Jeremy Scott Whyte died of Lung Cancer in May 2007 at the age of 52. He was a gifted professional artist (Bath and Chelsea) who worked mostly in the South-West of France where he lived with his young wife and little boy.
His work has been exhibited in London, Paris, Sardinia, and several towns in the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne and has given much pleasure to many. He had a particular eye for the French countryside that people find they can relate to.
His cancer was very rapid and so his death was a great shock to all his family. There must be so many people who have lost someone "before their time" in this way.
However more and more lives can be saved by further advances in medical research.
If you have lost someone to cancer maybe you might like to buy one of his pictures in memory of them.
50% of the price will go to Cancer Research UK and 50% will go to his young widow and son. Cancer Research UK will send you a letter of acknowledgement.
Payment is through the secure server of PayPal but if you'd rather pay by cheque you may contact us for details using Contact page.
Here is what Jeremy said himself about working in France in an article published in 2000:
"My work is mainly portraiture and landscape, and I try to capture the feel of the region at different times of day and in the different seasons.
"The light here is ever changing, confusing distances and constantly altering and transforming colours. And the landscape itself is beautiful and facinating. I like, in particular, the many perspectives, the straight lines of the vines, the orchards and the tree plantations, the grid patterns of the bastide towns. These have been preoccupations in my work. The reflection of light and colour in the rivers of the region and panoramic views whith huge skies are other schemes."
